Civic Association News - July 2026
Hello Imperial Harbor Neighbors!
Our southwest Florida summer weather is very much here! Heat, humidity, and finally some much needed
rain. Those of us who are here permanently know that this is the time of year to venture outdoors early in the
morning, or later in the evenings whenever possible. Regardless of when and where you are, hydrate, hydrate,
hydrate!! Dehydration is a serious issue amongst seniors, and it can happen quickly. Please, take especially
good care of yourselves throughout the summer.
As your Board members continue working over the summer months, we’d like to remind you to take a fresh
look at the Deed of Restrictions for Imperial Harbor. Now is a good time to read through it and make sure that
your property is in compliance. If you have any questions regarding this, your Board is here to answer them.
(To read the DoR online, simply go to imperialharbor.org where you can easily find it. Just hover over Civic
Association towards the right of your screen. Then you’ll see a drop down of different subjects. Scroll down
and click on Civic Documents. Our Deed of Restrictions is at the top.)
We are about a month into Hurricane Season 2026, ready or not! We were very fortunate to have a quiet Hurri-
cane Season last year, and we’re hoping for the same this year. However, time will tell. There is an excellent
printed booklet put out by WINK News every year, the WINK Hurricane Guide. They give specific infor-
mation on preparing your property for storm season, gathering supply kits for you and any pets, special prepa-
rations for mobile homes, what to do after a hurricane, maps of zones in the area, a list of important phone
numbers and websites…and much more helpful information. You can access the WINK Hurricane Guide 2026
online at https://www.winknews.com/weather/hurricane_guide/ The printed version is also available free. In
the past, Publix always carried these booklets, but they are not doing so anymore. However, there are many
businesses throughout Lee County where you can find them. Below is a list of the ones closest to Imperial
Harbor.

Civic Association News - June 2026
Hello From Sunny Florida!
Our community is much more quiet as many snowbirds have once again migrated north for the
summer. We dearly miss our friends and neighbors who are gone for a few months, so enjoy
your northern summer and we look forward to seeing you here in the fall!
For those of you who are still here…Have you seen it? Have you noticed? Some properties at
the entrance to Imperial Harbor have been spruced up and are looking great! A big THANK
YOU to those who have been working to improve your properties!! By doing this, you have
not only improved your own property value, but that of your neighbors as well. Not to men-
tion, it is just so nice to see places looking their best!
Your current Civic Association Board is made up of both snowbirds and permanent Florida
residents. As such, a few of us are already up north and some of us are still here and looking
forward to some vacation time. During these summer months, Board members continue to
work. We have been addressing various questions and concerns from residents, processing
new Memberships, working with the City of Bonita Springs to identify current rental proper-
ties which do not have the required permit from the city, delivering Welcome packets to new
homeowners as homes are purchased, reminding real estate professionals that we are a 55+
community and encouraging them to get the appropriate paperwork to their prospective clients
before sales are closed. We are also brainstorming ideas for events and activities for the up-
coming season, and will be coordinating schedules with the Harbor Club for the season. Our
team of Board members is also spending a good amount of time reviewing countless docu-
ments and information pertaining to the Civic Association itself, as well as to the work of pre-
vious Boards over the years. We are educating ourselves in the factual history, including the
many processes and procedures implemented and sometimes changed, over time. We’re look-
ing closely at what has been successful, what has protected and served our community well.
Also, those things which may not have been so successful and which could be improved upon
to better protect our 55+ community and serve our homeowners and residents.
We reconvene in November, with our first General Membership Meeting for the new season
being held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. Though the Civic As-
sociation Board is composed solely of volunteers, we all take our positions on the Board very
seriously. We are each homeowners here in Imperial Harbor, and we care deeply about our
community and we desire to protect it and see it thrive as the strong and beautiful 55+ commu-
nity it was meant to be.
THANK YOU to those of you who support us, not only financially, but also in your words of
encouragement and the caring you show. We appreciate each and every one of you, and we
will strive to do our best for this community.
Most Sincerely,
Your Board of Directors The Civic Association of Imperial Harbor
